Olympus OM-10 Revisited

Automatic Focusing and other superb gadgets on today's SLR's do make lives easier. Photojournalists cannot live without them, and wildlife photographers breathe with every shot taken using them.

But sometimes we take technology for granted. And we forget the basics...the bare essentials.

So this was a refresher course for me on camera appreciation...though the camera works on Aperture-Priority, you still have to load the film-leader manually, pull the film-advance lever after every shot, dabble with focusing ring and aperture...and last but not least, manually wind the film when the roll is finished. Best of all, it is my first camera ever, handed down by my father.

Pics were taken on Gold 200 using Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Suffice to say, I need to take this baby out more often and leave the gizmos at home...

sudah la kau chip.. dah ade digital.. lagi nak jek orang yg pakai film! he he he

anyway latip, gentle je aku cakap.. semua shots hang, tak mencapai aku punya expactation drpd hang! psl aku tahu hang lagi terrer drpd ni. compostion cam out comparing ngan gambaq gambaq hang sebelum ni. especially gambar 2 orang kawan hang yg hang pi tukar jadi black n white tu. pastu, gambaq tangan awek hang tu.. banyak sangat corak, kat tangan ade corak.. kat background banyak corak! pening beb! bak kata bob 'less is more'

but then, hang punya depth of field memang spot on. especially gambaq mug hang tu.. focusing on the far side of the curve! part tu memang hang superb!

conclusion : work on ur composition, my fellow brother!

I like the tangan with corak sebab match dengan corak kat table. Maybe it might be more dramatic on a one color background, like insignificance says, but then again what is beautiful in one person's eyes might not be in another's. To each his own. Wed 6-Apr-2005 03:39
